Hub Servicing, and Bearing Replacement
Hub bearings are critical to the smooth running of your wheels. As the bearings wear, races deform, and debris penetrates the seals. The result is grinding in the bearings, or even play at the axle.
Modern cartridge bearings require specialist pullers and presses, that can end up costing more than the wheels!
We replace bearings, and service and maintain hubs from brands including Shimano, DT Swiss, ZIPP, HUNT and Mavic. All main bearing sizes are in stock, from brands like Enduro, NTN, and SKF.
Wheel Truing
A wheel that is out of true can be, at best a bit annoying, and at its worst, very dangerous.
Gone are the days of giving the slack spoke half a turn, and then sticking it back on the bike! The use of carbon rims, hidden spoke nipples and blades aero carbon spokes can make the truing of modern wheels complicated.
Our wheel truing process includes wheel examination (What happened?), lateral and radial truing, spoke tension checks, and hub dishing.
